COLLECTION

Contemporary Kyiv is working on the creation and development of an independently governed national collection of Ukrainian contemporary art. We understand it not as a closed archive or a private holding, but as a long-term cultural memory — a living space for the preservation, interpretation, and visibility of art that appears in Ukraine and enters into dialogue with the world.

 

The collection is being developed in relation to Poyavy by Contemporary Kyiv and the broader field of Ukrainian contemporary art. We are interested in works and practices that possess artistic force, cultural weight, and the ability to leave a trace in the experience of their time. This concerns both individual works and a broader understanding of how art today appears, changes, and defines itself within Ukrainian and international contexts.

Contemporary Kyiv Foundation is interested in collaboration with artists, curators, collectors, institutions, businesses, and art lovers who share the importance of this goal. By supporting Poyavy, acquisitions, partnerships, or other forms of participation, you contribute to supporting art and artists today — something of particular value and importance as Ukrainian artists continue to work under the pressure of war — as well as to the creation of an independently governed national collection of Ukrainian contemporary art as part of the cultural memory of the country and the world.
