THE
CONCEPT

Contemporary Kyiv is a new international festival and art fair of contemporary art in Ukraine. The inaugural edition will take place in June–August 2026 at Kyiv’s iconic national exhibition complex — the Expocenter of Ukraine (VDNG), a landmark of architecture and public life.
More than a fair, more than a festival — Contemporary Kyiv brings them together. Across 5,000 sqm of halls and the vast open grounds of VDNG, the program spans exhibitions, performances, talks, site-specific works, and more. It is a forum of ideas as much as a marketplace of art, a territory of discovery and inspiration where exchange happens face to face.
Born from Ukraine’s surge of creative energy, Contemporary Kyiv is dedicated to amplifying Ukrainian art and artists at home and abroad, while opening space for voices from around the world. Connecting resilience with imagination, institutions with independents, and one generation’s creativity to the next, Contemporary Kyiv is an invitation to believe in the possibility and necessity of art — its beauty, its courage, its power to uncover the questions that belong to you alone, right now.
