THE
CONCEPT

Contemporary Kyiv is a new initiative for contemporary art in Ukraine, one that is not tied to a single, fixed format - festival, fair, exhibition, show, or any other predetermined category. We want the freedom to choose whatever form is needed, at any moment and in any place where an artistic appearance feels possible or necessary. We are not binding ourselves to any specific genre of art either.

The inaugural act of Contemporary Kyiv, Act One: Vykhid, will take place from June 25 to August 25, 2026, at Kyiv’s iconic national exhibition complex, the Expocenter of Ukraine (VDNG), a landmark of architecture, imagination, and big public events. We welcome art in all forms and media. The artworks may or may not be for sale.

Born from Ukraine’s surge of creative energy, Contemporary Kyiv is dedicated to amplifying Ukrainian art and artists at home and abroad, while broadening space for voices from around the world. We are passionate about art that illuminates the questions that keep us human.
